Murray goes to N-N-N-Nineteen!

Andy Murray is to leave Ace management to join Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment, a subsidiary of CKX, Inc (NASDAQ: CKXE), and CAA Sports, a division of Creative Artists Agency.His website announced today that they have signed the brothers Murray for representation, across all their on and off court activity, commencing 1st March 2009.

Fuller’s company, which is run from London, New York and LA, has partnered with CAA Sports, which represents the world’s #3 tennis player Novak Djokovic, among other tennis stars,and also the likes of David Beckham,Cristiano Ronaldo. Fuller's 19 already look after Claudia Schiffer,Tom Cruise and The Spice Girls and will now provide the Murrays with a powerful combination of management, creative and commercial resources.

We would like to wish Team Murray, Ace management and 19 Entertainment continued success during 2009 and onwards!

New USA schedule

Broady moves back to No11 in Britain today due to Anna Fitzpatrick being injured-we wish her a speedy recovery and look forward to her much needed contribution to UK tennis resuming in January. Meanwhile Naomi's schedule has been changed. She will pay Glasgow in preparation for the USA where she plays Laguna Nigel and Palm Desert $25s in California followed by the $75 at Midland then onto Arizona for the Surprise $25k and finally the $50K at Clearwater,Florida.

Manchester Childrens Hospital fund raising

This weekend (Sunday 14th) saw Naomi at Manchester Sport City Tennis Centre supporting a 24 hour charity event raising much needed cash for The Manchester Childrens Hospital. Organised by Sheldon Bean, Nigel Wolfstein and local tennis legend Dave Chadwick (junior coach at Didsbury's The Albert Club) the event was a huge success. Pictures to follow (see gallery).Around £17,000 was raised on the day.

Naomi to play USA Challengers Jan09

Naomi will travel to Miami at the beginning of January to play the first of four $25k Challengers starting in Boca Raton. Staying in Florida she will then play Lutz during the 2nd week. From here she fly's to California to play the Laguna Nigel event and also on the 2nd of February the Palm Desert tournament in Palm Springs.

Broady in 4 week training block !

Naomi has changed her schedule from that of playing events in Czech Republic and Dubai to concentrate on her strength and fitness program. She is now likely to play her next tournament in early January.

Broady training in Sweden!

This week see's Naomi edging for the first time towards a British senior top 10 ranking which is well on course for her targets this year.She's working hard and training at the GLTC club in Gothenburg for the next 7 days.This is the start of a comprehensive winter program aimed at raising her fitness,quickness and strength levels. She will also spend time training in Paris and back in Bolton with Suzy before her next tournament in Czech republic in early December.

Career high ranking for Broady !

Naomi gained a new highest ranking of 443 in the world this week! She now goes to Europe to start her winter training and has tournaments in the Czech Republic and Dubai in December.

Broady was beaten 6-2,6-4 by Sachha Jones of New Zealand. This is the last tournament of the Australian tour which should see Naomi's ranking rise to around 440 next week!

Port Pirie 1st round win for Broady!

Naomi beat Magali De Lattre from Portugal 7-5,6-1 in Australia this morning in high temperature conditions. She now plays the No3 seed Sacha Jones. The 18 year old from New zealand is ranked 291 on the tour.

New career high ranking WTA460 for Broady!

Despite having to go to hospital in Australia with a mystery illness Naomi has a new carrer high ranking of 460 in the world and is on the edge of achieving a top 10 status in senior GB tennis. She is feeling much better and still hopes to compete in the final tournament at Port Pirie which starts tomorrow.

Naomi out to Yurika !

Mount Gambier was short lived as Broady lost 6-7,2-6, to Yurika Sema of Japan. The No4 seed played very well consistently forcing errors from Naomi. The $25K tournament next week is the last of the Aussie tour and is at Port Pirie so Naomi has a week of training to prepare.

Naomi to face Yurika Sema ! & well done Robson !

Broady comes up against the Japanese No4 seed Yurika Sema in the 1st round of the $25K at Mount Gambier,Australia. Left handed Sema is currently 200 places higher at 299 in the world. Once again Mel South is the No1 seed in the tournament after losing a close final last week in Traralgon 25K against Jarmilla Gajdosova from Slovakia.                                                                                                                                   Congratulations to Laura Robson, she creates history yet again by becoming one of the youngest women to enter the Senior world rankings today at WTA550 and has a wild card for the Fortis Championships in Luxembourg next week amongst the company of Dementiava,Mauresmo and Lyndsey Davenport. All the best for this tournament which could see her ranking go much higher next week!

Mount Gambier starts today-

The qualifying rounds at the Mount Gambier $25K in Australia got under way today. Sophie Proctor plays but Liz Thomas,Jocelyn Rae and Emily Webley-Smith all got byes. Naomi's new ranking of 495 means she starts in the main draw (Tuesday) of another strong event with Mel South once again the No1 seed. Naomi's ranking should move up even further on Monday after last weeks tournament.

Broady out to world No128 !

Naomi lost in Traralgon,Australia to Britains Mel South currently ranked 128 in the world! It was a thrilling match,she won the first set 6-2, but South came back to take the next two sets 7-6,6-4. This shows once again that Naomi can compete well at this level. Her ranking should now climb to a new career high of around 460!

Broady 2nd round win!

Naomi came through with a steady performance in Traralgon,Australia against I-Hswuin Hwang to take the match 6-3,6-3. She returned the Hwang serve very well keeping her Taipei opponent under pressure! Naomi will now play the No1 seed Mel South from Great Britain with a chance to avenge the closely fought loss at Surbiton earlier this year.
