Naomi overcame Jocelyn Rae 4-6,6-3,6-4 in a close match neither player claiming to have played to their full potential. Rae who is based at the LTA National Training Centre in London is accompanied by National Coach Simon Walsh who has previously worked with Samantha Stosur, Katarina Srebotnik and Anne Keothavong. Broady lost against Rae in their previous encounter several weeks ago so this is seen as an excellent start to her Aussie tour. Naomi now plays the 6th seed Alexis Prousis from USA currently ranked 353 in the world. In the doubles Broady has teamed up with Jocelyn,winning their 1st round yesterday and the 1st set of their 2nd round today before bad light stopped play!
